I am in complete awe of my next {Walk The Shot} attendee. Not only is she as sweet as a homemade apple crumble pie but she is one of the most inspiring women I have had the pleasure of meeting. Shannon is from Mississippi…so how have we met you ask? Well, that’s where part of the story begins. Shannon sent me a request to book a workshop and we did just that. Meanwhile, we stayed in touch. She read the announcement that I would be speaking at The School of Photography in Grand Rapids and she sent me a note to say that she would meet me there! She and her best friend were going to take a road trip to MI. Gosh! I only wish I was that spontaneous and carefree. The conversation that we had after the conference was simply amazing! Shannon is a true free spirit. A Southern Belle. An amazing best friend. An all around inspiring person. I literally can not wait to spend a day with her!
I hope that all of y’all will someday have the pleasure of meeting Shannon in person because believe me…you will be better for it! In the meantime, please stop by and say hey to Shannon sometime.
Some fun random facts about Shannon…
1. Are you an early bird or a night owl? Definitely a night owl! Whether riding the back roads or curled up on the couch, I seem to have my best ideas at night.
2. Coffee…blonde or brunette? I don’t drink coffee, but I like to smell it percolating?! Reminds me of Sunday mornings when I was a child, and late night cups with my beloved grandmother, munching on crackers at 2a.m. Of course, she was up with me.
3. What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about you? I’m shy. Really, it’s true. Almost a hermit. I can hold my own on a stage in front of a microphone in front of a thousand people, or be the “character” of the crowd. But, honestly, I could go weeks without social interaction.
4. What’s your favorite smell? Rain.
5. Sit and watch or get up and dance? Twenty years ago, it was sit and watch…until I had a few adult beverages, then it was “get up and dance”. Now, I take blood pressure medicine, so adult beverages are few and far between, but with or without, I still get up and shake a tail feather!
6. If you were granted an all expenses paid trip to anywhere in the world where would you go? Australia.
7. Do you clip coupons? Sometimes, with good intentions on using them. But, by the time I remember I have them, they are usually expired.
8. If you were going to be a contestant on Survivor what would be your one must have item? A fan, with an endless battery supply.
9. Sweet or sour? Actually, I favor Sweet AND Sour. But, sweet is in all my faves. Attitudes, foods, clients, etc.
10. Do you shop at Wal-Mart? And…it’s okay to answer yes. Wal-Mart is my favorite store! When I worked the regular “Day Job”, I was a regular at Wally World. Now, I only go if needed, cause I can get most things at Fred’s or from local merchants.
11. What was your favorite cartoon as a child? I can’t remember the names, but early Saturday mornings in the 70’s were AWESOME!!!
12. Do you play the lottery? My pocketbook won’t let me.
13. What is one thing that you splurge on? Road Trips! Love to travel. Ironically, I didn’t start doing so on a regular basis until after I quit my day job!
14. Did you ever skip school? Yep.
15. Are you willing to admit that you loved Ice Ice Baby when it first came out? Yep.
16. Waffle cone or regular? WAFFLE!!!!!
17. Do you push boundaries in life or do you prefer to play it safe? I am always pushing something. Boundaries would definitely apply. But, as I get older, I know when to play it safe. And then sometimes, I still push!
18. Would you rather travel by car or plane? That would depend on the weather, and where I was headed. Since I have seen most of the neighboring states of Mississippi, I would rather fly to a destination and then rent a car. I like to explore.
19. What chore do you dread the most? Dusting. I wear goggles and a surgical mask.
20. Is your purse well organized or a hot mess? I buy new purses to get organized, until they become a hot mess.
I don’t know who this person is, but I think you described her perfectly and I can’t wait to meet her! :)
Dawn, I am humbled by your words. I’m counting down the days! Can’t wait!
See ya soon,
Shannon
